About Isis the Goddess

Isis is a Goddess of ancient Egypt who embodies strength, endurance, loyalty, devotion, power, passion and love. She was daughter, mother, sister, lover, wife, friend, companion, and able adversary, holding strong in time of trouble, believing in herself, in those she loved, and in the ultimate justice of natural law. It is for her early understanding of these feminine qualities that the Isis Institute of Women's Studies is named.

And now, through the Isis Institue of Women's Studies, Isis is mother of a global village...a circle of women offering sacred space in which each may grow. An organization offering a place for women to learn, to expand their wisdom and knowledge, to find their power and their voices.

A place where maidens, mothers, crones, wisewomen of all ages, gather. Together they create sacred space wherever they go, offering classes, workshops and retreats to liberate the Feminine from social, spiritual, political, economical and psychological limitations.

We invite you to join us: Whether it be dancing and drumming about a bonfire or walking a labyrinth in breathtaking Central Texas, participating in a book discussion or movie night, theological study in a discussion group, exploring the women's Mysteries of ancient Egypt, Italy or Greece, or enjoying the hot springs of New Mexico..... Our community welcomes you with open wings!
